Witches Tea Time e Bloody Mary

Good morning dear Stitchers,
on this cold and rainy autumn day I am happy to present you the first two patterns for this season, obviously dedicated to Halloween. The first one quickly became one of my favorites, and I hope you like it as much as I do.
As the moon rises, among white pumpkins and floating candles, two sisters witches sip a magical tea, accompanying it to a slice of cake. It is the magical Witches Tea Time, shared between a potion and a spell, and who knows what secrets the two witches will be talking about… certainly they are preparing for their night flight to peaks and clearings, to celebrate the magical Halloween night… Their night.

Buongiorno care Ricamine,
in questa fredda e piovosa giornata autunnale sono felice di presentarvi i primi due schemi per questa stagione, ovviamente dedicati ad Halloween. Il primo è diventato subito uno dei miei preferiti, e spero che piaccia a voi quanto piace a me.
Mentre sorge la luna, fra candide zucche e candele fluttuanti, due streghe sorelle sorseggiano un tè magico, accompagnandolo a una fetta di torta. È la magica ora del Tè delle Streghe, condiviso fra una pozione e un incantesimo, e chissà di quali segreti staranno parlando le due streghe… di certo si stanno preparando al loro volo notturno verso vette e radure, a festeggiare la magica notte di Halloween… la Loro notte.

These two little witches, different yet similar as two sisters can be, have entered my heart and I believe that other patterns will be created on them… something is already boiling in the pot, indeed, in the cauldron!

Queste due streghine, diverse eppure simili così come possono esserlo due sorelle, mi sono entrate nel cuore e credo che nasceranno altri schemi su di loro… qualcosa bolle già in pentola, anzi, nel calderone!

The second pattern is intentionally creepy as all those in my Legends for Halloween and Little Horrors series, and this year it is dedicated to the scary Bloody Mary. Legend tells that if her spirit is summoned in front of a mirror, by saying her name three times, lit only by a candle, her ghost appears to kill anyone who has summoned it wishes… but you have to be very careful, Bloody Mary is not foolish… sometimes to end up under her lethal hands is the very one who evoked it…

Il secondo schema è inquietante come tutti quelli delle serie Legends for Halloween e Little Horrors, e quest’anno è dedicato alla spaventosa Bloody Mary. La leggenda vuole che se si evoca il suo spirito davanti ad uno specchio, pronunciando il suo nome tre volte, illuminate solo da una candela, il fantasma appaia per uccidere chiunque chi lo ha evocato desideri… però bisogna stare molto attente, Bloody Mary non è sciocca… e certe volte a finire sotto le sue mani letali è proprio colei o colui che l’ha evocata…

Bloody Mary is the Phantom of the Mirror, so on these nights leading up to Halloween, beware of mirrors… and those who live beyond their deceptive surface… ;)

Bloody Mary è il Fantasma dello Specchio, per cui, in queste notti che portano ad Halloween, fate attenzione agli specchi… e a chi abita oltre la loro ingannevole superficie… ;)

These are the first two patterns for this season, but two more will be arriving next week. If you loved my first Salem pattern and her Bridget Bishop, you probably won’t be disappointed with these other two that carry on both the history and the style. I love them very much, I hope you will like them.

Autumn Fox, Poirot and a Tiny Bird

Dear Stitchers,
while waiting to dedicate completely myself to Halloween, I would like to present you these three patterns that I loved designing and finishing. The first one, in all autumnal style, welcomes this September and follows my new line dedicated to bookmarks and animals, which I hope will continue for a long time, because the ideas are many and all really sweet and fun.
After the first set of bookmarks dedicated to bees, this is the first one that accompany the bookmark with an ornament and a small pin cushion, which you can also realize as a needle book. To welcome the first autumn air and the first falling leaves, there is a very sweet and soft fox, offered in two slightly different versions. The fox is very much in love with autumn, so much so that its fur recalls the color of the redder and coppery leaves. She likes to watch them twirl in the air and gently settle on the ground, and above all she loves hiding, camouflaging, among the trunks and piles of leaves, popping out when least expected.

Care Ricamine,
in attesa di dedicarmi completamente ad Halloween, vorrei presentarvi questi tre schemi che ho amato molto disegnare e realizzare. Il primo, tutto autunnale, dà il benvenuto a questo settembre, e segue la mia nuova linea dedicata ai segnalibri e agli animaletti, che mi auguro proseguirà a lungo, perché le idee sono tante e tutte davvero dolci e divertenti.
Dopo il primo set di segnalibri dedicati alle api, questo è il primo che accompagna il segnalibro a un ornament e a un piccolo puntaspilli autunnale, che però potete confezionare anche come porta aghi. A dare il benvenuto alla prima aria d’autunno e alle prime foglie cadenti, c’è una dolcissima e morbidissima volpina, proposta in due versioni leggermente diverse. La volpina è molto innamorata dell’autunno, tanto che il suo pelo richiama il colore delle foglie più rosse e ramate. A lei piace guardarle volteggiare nell’aria e posarsi delicatamente a terra, e soprattutto adora nascondersi, mimetizzandosi, fra i tronchi e i cumuli di foglie, sbucando fuori quando meno ce lo si aspetta.

The second pattern has been waiting to come out for some months, and is dedicated to one of my favorite characters, Agatha Christie’s shrewd and likeable detective, Hercule Poirot. I admit it, I watch and re-watch his films again and again, and I find in Poirot such a pleasant company that I just can’t help it. His little gray cells are unbeatable, and as is well known, Poirot is never wrong – he is always keen to remember it.
The pattern is very simple but I hope you enjoy it and that it can keep you company, perhaps sipping a good cup of tea, and watching, with one eye on embroidery and one on the screen, one of the episodes of his fantastic television series.

Il secondo schema era in attesa di uscire da alcuni mesi, ed è dedicato a uno dei miei personaggi preferiti, il sagace e simpatico detective di Agatha Christie, Hercule Poirot. Lo ammetto, guardo e riguardo i suoi film a ripetizione, e trovo in Poirot una compagnia talmente piacevole che non posso proprio farne a meno. Le sue celluline grigie sono imbattibili, e come ben si sa, Poirot non sbaglia mai – ci tiene sempre a ricordarlo lui stesso.
Lo schema è molto semplice ma spero vi diverta e possa farvi compagnia, magari sorseggiando una buona tazza di tè, e guardando, con un occhio al ricamo e uno allo schermo, una delle puntate della sua fantastica serie televisiva.

The third pattern is a very tiny gem. I wanted to design and stitch in a few versions a very tiny bird, tiny enough to fit in one hand. I wanted it to be pearl gray, and that it could be embellished with the sweetest, most delicate and elegant decorations. I wanted it to be perfect for giving small gifts to friends, or even wedding favors and little gifts, and so it is. This tiny, tiny bird, a symbol of love and kindness, was born, and is available to all of you at an equally tiny cost.
The pattern includes both versions, with hand-dyed yarn from The Gentle Art on antique white linen, and with simple white yarn on hand-dyed gray linen. The second version is embellished with three little pearls.

Il terzo schema è una chicca davvero piccolissima. Volevo disegnare e ricamare in più versioni un uccellino piccolissimo, tanto piccolo da stare in una mano. Volevo che fosse color grigio perla, e che potesse essere abbellito con le decorazioni più dolci, delicate ed eleganti. Volevo che fosse perfetto per fare piccoli regali alle amiche, o addirittura bomboniere e pensierini, e così è stato. Questo piccolo, piccolissimo uccellino, simbolo di amore e gentilezza, è nato, ed è disponibile per tutte voi ad un costo altrettanto piccolo.
Lo schema comprende entrambe le versioni, con filato tinto a mano da The Gentle Art su lino bianco antico, e con semplice filato bianco su lino tinto a mano, grigio. La seconda versione è abbellita con tre piccole perle.

I hope you like these new patterns and that they keep you company in these first days of September, when the leaves begin to turn yellow, when it is nice to spend a few moments embroidering in front of an episode of Poirot, when a tiny bird of the color of fog and pearls chirps, a gift made from the heart to the closest friends.

Spero che questi nuovi schemi vi piacciano e che vi facciano compagnia in questi primi giorni di settembre, quando le foglie iniziano ad ingiallire, quando è bello passare qualche momento ricamando davanti a una puntata di Poirot, quando cinguetta un piccolissimo uccellino color della nebbia e delle perle, dono fatto col cuore alle amiche più care.

All About Bees

Dear Stitchers,
here is the second part of my new patterns, entirely dedicated to our beloved bees. I know they are among the patterns you love the most and this year I had so many new ideas, so I created three different sets, with which you can create ornaments, pincushions, needle holders, bags and whatever you prefer.

Care Ricamine,
ecco la seconda parte dei miei nuovi schemi, tutta dedicata alle nostre amate api. So che sono fra gli schemi che amate di più e quest’anno le nuove idee erano tante, per cui ho creato tre set diversi, con i quali potrete creare ornamenti, puntaspilli, portaaghi, bustine e tutto ciò che preferite.

The first set is dedicated to the gifts of the hive, the queen bee and her handmaids. You will find the bee in its flowery circle, the hive of wild bees, built by them on a beautiful flowering apple branch, the wax honeycomb watched over by three sentinel bees and finally the product of their diligent work, the honey, in its brown jar – the color suggests it is chestnut honey, one of my favorites – with the natural jute-colored jar lid, embellished with a small flower.
These are the treasures of the beehive, one more precious and beneficial than the other.

Il primo set è dedicato ai doni dell’alveare, dell’ape regina e delle sue ancelle. Troverete l’ape nel suo cerchio fiorito, l’alveare di api selvatiche, costruito da loro su un bel ramo di melo fiorito, il favo di cera vegliato da tre api sentinelle e infine il prodotto del loro solerte lavoro, il miele, nel suo vasetto bruno – il colore suggerisce che sia miele di castagno, uno dei miei preferiti – con il copri vasetto color iuta naturale, abbellito da un fiorellino.
Questi sono i tesori dell’alveare, uno più prezioso e benefico dell’altro.

The second patterns set is dedicated to all the beekeepers, and is called The Little Beekeeper, who in my imagination is the one who takes care of the bees and takes only what is strictly necessary from them, leaving them all what they need and watching over them all year long.
The pattern consists of a bag and a small ornament with a small bee flying among daisies.

Il secondo schema è dedicato a tutte le apicoltrici, e si chiama La Piccola Apicoltrice, che nella mia immaginazione è colei che si prende cura delle api e prende da loro solo lo stretto necessario, lasciando a loro tutto ciò di cui hanno bisogno e vegliando su di loro tutto l’anno.
Lo schema è composto da una borsina e da un piccolo ornament con una piccola ape che vola fra le margherite.

The third pattern is the first in a new series that I’d like to create on bookmarks. They are two variations of bookmarks with the funny alphabet “A Bee C”, a beautiful bee and a big daisy. I liked the daisy so much that I stitched it twice, creating a third small variation: a very simple bookmark with a sewn ribbon and, on the bottom, a wooden button that holds the sign at the base of the book. Depending on your preferences – and on the size of the books in which you want to use the bookmark – you can decide the length of the ribbon.

Il terzo schema è il primo di una nuova serie che mi piacerebbe creare sui segnalibri. Sono due varianti di segnalibro con il divertente alfabeto “A Bee C”, una bella ape e una grande margherita. La margherita mi piaceva così tanto che l’ho ricamata due volte, creando una terza piccola variante: un segnalibro semplicissimo con un nastro cucito e, sul fondo, un bottone di legno che tiene il segno alla base del libro. A seconda delle vostre preferenze – e delle dimensioni dei libri nei quali volete usare il segnalibro – potrete decidere la lunghezza del nastrino.

But the surprises are not over, I had another small pattern in mind and I decided to create it separately and give it to you as a small free. With the usual funny pun, he suggests to be good – or good bees – just like the jar of honey produced by the fervent workers with golden wings.

Ma le sorprese non sono finite, avevo in mente un altro piccolo schema e ho deciso di crearlo a parte, da solo, e regalarvelo come piccolo free. Con il solito divertente gioco di parole, suggerisce di essere buone – o buone api – proprio come il vasetto di miele prodotto dalle fervide operaie dalle ali d’oro.
