Buonasera carissime Ricamatrici, siamo giunte alla fine di questo terzo e ultimo Mystery SAL sulle streghe storiche e ringrazio non solo ognuna di voi che avete partecipato, ma anche tutte coloro che adotteranno questo schema adesso che è stato rilasciato ufficialmente, e che avete ricamato i miei precedenti schemi su queste donne storiche che hanno lasciato un segno nella storia, e che meritano di essere ricordate.
In this third and final pattern of the series, you will find four women from four different nations who shared the same tragic epilogue. You will find Graciana Xarra, who was tried in Spain in the interesting trial involving the village of Zugarramurdi, in Logroño; then one of the women tried and condemned in Salem, Mary Eastey, sister of the more famous Rebecca Nurse; then we will travel to my hometown of Italy, where one of the first women condemned to death was Sibillia Zanni, in Milan in the late 14th century; And finally, we’ll travel to England, where we’ll meet Margaret Read and her flaming heart, the subject of the legend of the King’s Lynn Tuesday Market.
I wanted to associate a natural element with each of them, simply to remind that what binds these women – or rather, what is attributed to them – is their belonging to the untamed forces of nature. In reality, we know that in most cases, each of them was just a normal woman, with no connection to the occult.
In questo terzo e ultimo schema della serie, troverete quattro donne appartenenti a quattro diverse nazioni, che hanno condiviso lo stesso tragico epilogo. Troverete Graciana Xarra, che venne processata in Spagna, nell’interessante processo che ha coinvolto il villaggio di Zugarramurdi, a Logroño; poi una delle donne processate e condannate a Salem, Mary Eastey, sorella della più nota Rebecca Nurse; quindi faremo un viaggio fino nella mia Italia, dove una delle prime donne condannate a morte fu Sibillia Zanni, nella Milano della fine del 1300; e infine andremo in Inghilterra, dove troveremo Margaret Read, e il suo cuore fiammeggiante, di cui narra la leggenda del Tuesday Market di King’s Lynn.
A ognuna di loro ho voluto associare un elemento della natura, semplicemente per ricordare che ciò che lega queste donne, o meglio, che viene loro imputato, è l’appartenenza alle forze indomabili della natura. Poi in realtà sappiamo che nella maggior parte dei casi ognuna di loro non era che una semplice donna normale e senza alcun legame con l’occulto.
