Carissime ricamatrici, finalmente il nuovo schema fiabesco è pronto!
Il Mago di Oz è una storia meravigliosa che amo moltissimo, soprattutto quella narrata nel libro che ispirò il famosissimo film... *.* Queste sono pochissime citazioni che ho tratto direttamente dal libro, che, se non avete letto, vi consiglio davvero tanto. Per i personaggi però ho preso spunto dal film, e le scarpette di Dorothy sono rosse, come nel film, invece che argento, come sono nel libro.
Per il resto... lascio parlare la storia, che vale molto più di quanto si possa pensare... ;)
Dear stitchers, finally the new "fairytale pattern" is ready!
The Wizard of Oz is a wonderful story and I love it so much! I prefer very much the book and these are a few quotes I took from its lovely pages. If you never read the book I suggest you to read it... ;) For the pattern I was inspired by the movie rather than the book, and Dorothy's shoes are red like in the movie, rather than silver, like they are in the book.
I let the story speaks, it has more value than we can think about it... ;)
"Dorothy, ancora assonnata, scese dal suo lettino e come prima cosa si accorse che la casetta non si muoveva più e non era neppur più buio, perchè il sole, entrando dalla finestra, inondava la stanza di luce.
La fanciulla, seguita da Toto, si avvicinò alla finestra e la spalancò e, visto che la casa era davvero ferma, corse ad aprire la porta.
Dorothy lanciò un grido di stupore, rimanendo a bocca aperta a guardare lo spettacolo che si offriva ai suoi occhi attoniti.
L'uragano aveva deposto la casetta (pensiero veramente gentile per un uragano) in un paese di straordinaria bellezza, in netto contrasto con il paesaggio che Dorothy aveva conosciuto fino a quel giorno.
La bambina vide aiuole verdeggianti ed alberi giganteschi, carichi di frutta meravigliose che emanavano un grato profumo. Da ogni parte scorgeva fiori bellissimi dai mille colori e uccelli dalle piume variopinte svolazzavano, cinguettando, da un cespuglio all'altro.
Poco distante un ruscelletto di limpida acqua corrente mormorava sommessamente ed il suo gorgoglio armonioso giungeva gradito alle orecchie della piccina, vissuta tanti anni nelle aride e grigie praterie del Kansas."
"Dorothy sat up and noticed that the house was not moving; nor was it dark, for the bright sunshine came in at the window, flooding the little room. She sprang from her bed and with Toto at her heels ran and opened the door.
The little girl gave a cry of amazement and looked about her, her eyes growing bigger and bigger at the wonderful sights she saw.
The cyclone had set the house down very gently--for a cyclone--in the midst of a country of marvelous beauty. There were lovely patches of greensward all about, with stately trees bearing rich and luscious fruits.
Banks of gorgeous flowers were on every hand, and birds with rare and brilliant plumage sang and fluttered in the trees and bushes. A little way off was a small brook, rushing and sparkling along between green banks, and murmuring in a voice very grateful to a little girl who had lived so long on the dry, gray prairies."

the rest of the world. Therefore we still have witches and wizards amongst us"."
